Our Mission

Housing Workshop NY LLC offers a broad range of services to varied clients including nonprofits and community-based organizations, government agencies, as well as for-profit entities. HWI provides consulting and project management services related to program development and strategy, such as financial structuring for complex community development and affordable housing projects. HWI co-developed with the Cantera Peninsula Project, Parque Victoria, a 100-unit town-home development that won the prestigious Charles L. Edson Low Income Housing Tax Credit Excellence Award.

Ellen Seidman, Founder

Ellen has over 30 years of experience in this sector, and her vision involves putting business discipline to work for mission-driven projects and organizations. Prior to establishing Housing Workshop Inc, she was the Senior Investment Officer at the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust in Washington DC. She also worked for Phipps Houses, one of the largest and oldest nonprofit affordable housing development companies in the United States. Ellen attended Barnard College (BA) and New York University
